Obituary of Eleanor Irene Walters

Eleanor Irene Walters, 76, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away August 29, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on December 29, 1938 in Columbia, South Carolina to Derrell and Lella (Thomas) Sease. A strong woman of faith, Eleanor loved her church. She could be found there whenever the doors were open. Eleanor was a kind and a gentle spirit. She would always help those that needed it. Eleanor would not only give of her talents, but of her resources when she was able. Eleanor retired from Square D manufacturing after 20 years of good and faithful service. She enjoyed working with her hands, whether it was crocheting, sewing, or later in life she tried her hand at water color painting. Eleanor most loved her family. She enjoyed attending different outings, or even a quiet day of fishing. She will be missed by those that loved her. Eleanor is survived by her son; Harry D. Walters of Columbia, SC and a daughter; Debora J. Brazell of Lexington, SC, grandchildren; Gerald O. Kyzer III (Megan) of Lexington, SC, Christopher K. Hawley of Columbia, SC, Alexis Williams (Richard) of Columbia, SC, Jessica R. Kyzer of Lexington, SC and Koti Hawley of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by many other family members that will miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Delbert E. Walters, daughter, Goldie Irene Hawley; infant Son, Delbert Eugene Walters, Jr.; and many brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11 A.M. with Reverend Todd officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Good News Family Worship Center (formerly East Columbia Church of God) 7500 Terry Street, Columbia, SC, 29209.
