Obituary of Juanita Kyzer Thomason

Funeral services for Juanita Kyzer Thomason, 93, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Cayce United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mrs. Thomason, widow of Huey Lee Thomason, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015. She was born in 1921 in Lexington County to the late William J. and Nettie Mae Smith Kyzer. She was retired from Dodd's Dimestore. Mrs. Thomason was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church, Lydia Bible Class, the Allie Neams Circle where she worked in the Courtyard, taught the six year olds in Sunday school and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Thomason is survived by her daughters, Joyce T. Shealy (Larry), Anne T. Varn (Robert), Marie T. Knight (Miles) and Lois T. Luther (Wade), twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and three step grandsons, two sisters, Nadine K. Ellison and Wynelle K. Howard. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paige Lorick, a step-daughter, June Barclay, two brothers and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cayce United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1600 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033. The family would like to extended a special thank you to her caregiver, Alice Kirven and family.
