Obituary of Theodore Frank Polansky

Theodore Frank Polansky, 84 of Columbia, SC passed away September 10, 2015 at Providence Hospital Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on June 5, 1931 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Mary (Lacy) Polansky. Theodore was a proud US Army veteran. His dedication to service was evident as he served his country in Vietnam and Korea, ascending to the rank of Sergeant First Class. Ted continued his tradition of service by working for the Veterans Administration until he chose to retire. Ted loved to travel with his beloved companion of 30 years, Marie Andreski. They enjoyed cruises and exploring this great land of ours. He will be missed dearly. Theodore is survived by his son Theodore Paul Polansky (Gale DuBose) of Columbia, SC, daughters; Deborah Bartels (Danny) of North, SC, Jane Polansky (Lauren Hill) of Nashville, TN, a brother; Edward Polansky (Beverly) of Brunswick, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Norma Jane (Taylor) Polansky, sisters; Margaret Polansky Zachok, Mary Louise Polansky, brothers; Joseph Polansky and Paul Polansky. Graveside services will be at the Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Monday September 14, 2015 at 4 PM. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal charity of one's choice.
