Obituary of William Curtis Reames

WEST COLUMBIA-Born April 10, 1926 in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Irvin C. & Lillie Mayson Reames, William Curtis Reames, 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at home with his wife by his side. Curtis served during WWII in the US Navy for 3 years, retired from the SC Highway Department, he was a dedicated follower of Christ who lived to serve Him daily, was a long time member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Coordinator of Ushers, and was much loved as an official greeter. He was an avid golfer and a Board Member of Hidden Valley Country Club where he and his buddies played for many years. He was a devoted Gamecock fan who enjoyed watching them at home and traveling to see games. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Sills Reames, their 3 children Ricky C Reames (Sheila), Terri Reames Pattillo and Lisa Reames Simmons (Don), 4 grandchildren Kristi Reames Till (John), Shannon Calcutt Jenkins (Brian), Stephanie Pattillo Wilson, Nicole Simmons and 8 great-grandchildren, Maddie, Emerson, Zoe, Mia, Lily, Cooper, Tanner, Kallie, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. The visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral service will be Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 4347 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC 29072.
