Obituary of Yvonne E. Sightler

Yvonne E. Sightler, 84, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away September 23, 2015. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Jerome and Eula Mack Sightler. Yvonne graduated from BC High School and attended University of South Carolina where she received her undergraduate degrees in Education and Fine Arts; Her Master's Degree plus Thirty. She went on to become a school teacher in Lexington District number two where she served for 38 years. Some of her loves were feeding the animals outdoors. She enjoyed her God, her family, her country and animals. She was a master crafter and enjoyed making and sharing what she made with family and friends. She spent her time in the mountains with her family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family as well as many many kids, friends and animals that she met throughout her life. Yvonne is survived by her brother, Neil (Bettie Jo) Sightler of West Columbia and her sister in law, Alphie Wilson Sightler of West Columbia. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by her brother, Charles Sightler, Jr. The family would like to thank the Dr. William Yarborough, The CSR and Sixth Heart Staff at Providence Hospital, the staff at the Cassel Healthcare Center at Presbyterian home and last but not least the staff at IICU at Lexington Medical Center. A special thanks to Karen Castro and Melisa Younger for their devoted time they gave in her final days. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Southland Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m.
