Obituary of Lucille Hoffman

Lucille "Lucy" Hoffman, 98, of Columbia, SC passed away on September 24, 2015. She was born on November 24, 1916 in Jacksonville, NC to the late Franklin and Eliza Murrill Bordeaux. She was a long time member of Kathwood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. Lucy taught the Sunday school preschoolers and Bible School for many years. She was also active with the WMU and numerous church activities. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved any time that the family could gather together and fellowship. Lucy is survived by her daughters; Jackie and her husband Anthony Floyd of Hartsville, SC, Carol Horne of Columbia, SC, grandchildren; Tony and his wife Terry Floyd of Hartsville, Tina and her husband Mark Bailey of Seven Devils, NC, and James Horne of Columbia, SC, great grandchildren; Olivia and Sarah Floyd, of Hartsville and Dylan Horne of Jacksonville, NC. She is also survived by a sister; Marion Jenkins of Savannah GA. Lucy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews Lucy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John R. Hoffman, her birth mother, Eliza Murrill Bordeaux, her father; Franklin C. Bordeaux, and her mother, Dora Grice Bordeaux, her sisters; Dorothy Brisendine, Bonnie Culotta, brothers; Charles Bordeaux, Thomas Bordeaux, and William Bordeaux. A celebration of Lucy's life will be at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3 PM with Reverend Beth McConnell officiating. Interment and visitation will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kathwood Baptist Church, 4900 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
