Obituary of Priscilla Carlson
Priscilla “Pat” Carlson, 84, a beloved wife, mother, and “Nanu” passed away on January 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in 1939 in Oakdale, Louisiana, Priscilla was the daughter of Agnes Turner and Henry Rae Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Lee Turner, and her cherished Chihuahua companion, "Coco."
Priscilla's beautiful story began when she met the love of her life, Carl Carlson, while he was stationed in Fort Polk with the Army. Their journey together led them across continents, from Frankfurt, Germany, to the picturesque landscapes of Colorado. Throughout their adventures, Priscilla and Carl built a strong and enduring bond that would withstand the test of time. After raising her own children, Priscilla found the next calling in her life being a caretaker for infants at various church daycares.
Priscilla is survived by her loving husband, Carl Carlson, and their three daughters and son: Deborah Cobb (David), Richard “Ricky” Carlson, Deanna Weed, and Carla Carlson. Her memory lives on through her grandchildren: Ashley Williams (Michael), Courtney Cobb, Mikie Weed (Ariel),Sarah Waters (Larry),Cole Newman, Caitlin Newman, Raelynn Pommier (Joshua), Richard Carlson. Priscilla's legacy also extends to her great-grandchildren: Noelle Cobb, Everett Williams, Juliette Williams, Connor Weed, Cameron Weed, Samuel Rollins, Ethan Rollins, Lincoln Pommier, Harper Adkins, Mary-Collins Waters, Regina Carlson, Shannon Carlson, and Bethany Carlson.
Beyond her roles as a devoted wife and mother, Priscilla was a skilled seamstress known for creating beautiful and unique dresses, outfits, and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She found joy in gathering her family for big celebrations, particularly during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Priscilla had a special affinity for the beach, where she enjoyed collecting seashells and sharks' teeth, creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
One of Priscilla's most cherished legacies is the magical moments she provided her grandchildren, including the unforgettable taste of her famous French toast. Her warmth, creativity, and love will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In honoring Priscilla Carlson, let us remember the joy she brought into the lives of her family and friends. May her spirit live on through the laughter, love, and cherished memories she leaves behind.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 9 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thompsons Funeral Home in Lexington. The memorial service will follow at 5 p.m.
