Obituary of Jule "Elliott" Elkin

Jule Elliott Elkin (Elliott), 70, died peacefully in his sleep the morning of December 29th 2023 at his home on Lake Marion.  He was born November 8th 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina, the son of Jule Bunyan and Celia Anna (Thompkins) Elkin.  Elliott met Barbara White and they celebrated just over 50 years of marriage. Elliott retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Company at McMeekin Station on Lake Murray.  Elliott was enjoying retirement by working alongside his wife on their small business marina.  He was also a valued member of the Atlantic Railways staff, working proudly alongside his son. 

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister Elita and George Barham, husband to his daughter Nora Elkin.  Surviving in addition to his wife Barbara (White) Elkin, are his mother Celia (Thompkins) Elkin; his daughters Nora Elkin of Columbia, and Mary Dunn and her husband Benjamin of Lexington, and his son John Elkin of Pelion; 4 grandchildren, Clara Elkin, Colton Elkin, Katherine, and David Dunn; two sisters Sarah Elkin and her husband Michael Marsh, Susie Atkinson and her husband Ryan; one brother Dave Elkin and his wife Linda. With many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday January 13th 2024 with service following at 12 Noon, at Thompsons Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia. Followed by a short graveside service and Interment at Little River Baptist Church in Jenkinsville.
