Obituary of Maggie W. Thomas

Maggie W. Thomas, 89, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on May 16, 2018 at Harbor Chase in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on October 5, 1928 in Hartsville, South Carolina to the late James and Florence (Piggie) Winburn.

Mrs. Thomas was a past Matron, Assistant District Deputy, and held various other positions in the Fort Jackson Eastern Star Chapter 253. She loved organizing and participating in bus tours for Capital Tours. Maggie was retired from AT&T after 45 years of service.

Maggie is survived by two sons; Jim Thomas (Teresa) of Columbia, SC and Mike Thomas of Columbia, SC, four grandchildren; Rebekah Thomas Garbett (Dan), James Brett Thomas (Sallie), Elizabeth Thomas Weddington, and Paula Byrd Bush, eight great-grandchildren, Carter, Thomas, Grady, Hannah, Lillian, Annalise, Hunter, and Lynndsey and a sister and her husband, Mary Rumsey (Dexter).

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Thomas, a daughter, Sharon Kay Hieatt, and a granddaughter, Elianna Grace Weddington.

The family will receive friends in the mausoleum chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 11 am - 12 pm with the funeral services following at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
