Obituary of Charles W. Altman

Charles W. "Sonny" Altman, 85, of Elgin, passed away May 15, 2018. He was born on February 8, 1933 in Andrews, South Carolina, to William and Thelma Driggers Altman.  Sonny retired after 33 years from Southern Railway.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; sons, William Layton Altman, Sr (Jonna) and Richard Blackwell Altman (Sandra); daughter, Mary Ellen Bennett; grandchildren, William, Stacey, Samantha and Caleb; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Trey and Zoey.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens of Columbia following services.
