Obituary for Doris Ann Covert

Doris Ann Covert, 84, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away May 9, 2018 at her home in Lexington, South Carolina. She was born on May 2, 1934 in Bucksport, Maine to Arthur and Beatrice (Day) Woodbridge.  Doris was a proud military wife.  While her husband was serving his country honorably, she dutifully kept up with the business of the household.  She was an amazing wife, a wonderful and thoughtful mother and grandma, and also the best friend anyone could ask for.  She was kind to a fault but would defend her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to spend time with all of her family, shop and do seek-a-words. Doris will be missed by those she loved and those that loved her.

Doris will be forever remembered by her husband, Robert Covert, and their precious children, Ron (Jane), Terri Covert, Pam Covert (George), and Candace Hayes (David), and her beloved grandchildren, Melissa Neil (Glen), Ryan Covert (Valerie), Sarah Terry (Steven), Eric Covert (Beverly), Trish McDowell (Michael), Chandler Sullivan and Lara Sullivan, and her treasured great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Woodbridge, brothers, Harold, Basil, and Bob, sisters, Merry, and Eva. 

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington SC 29073 on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 6 PM until 8 PM.   Graveside services will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4720 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11 AM.
