Obituary of Willard Withrow

WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Willard R. """Jim""" Withrow, 73, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2010, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated bythe Rev. Dr. Donald F. West. Serving as pallbearers will be DeLeon Wallace, Jack Hopkins, Harold Williams, Chad Elliott, Reid Withrow and Wes Williams. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pets, Inc., 300 Orchard Drive, West Columbia, SC 29171, or to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169.Mr. Withrow died Thursday, September 2, 2010. Born in Peach Creek, WV, he was a son of the late Oliver Clarence Withrow and Mary Thomas Withrow. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Mr. Withrow had retired from SCE&G and was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors are his loving wife, Mary S. Withrow of West Columbia; sister, Eleanor Mira; brothers, Melvin Withrow and Tyrone Withrow; three grandchildren, Chad W. Elliott, Reid Withrow and Lauren Withrow.
