Obituary of Evelyn Shull

CAYCE - Funeral service for Evelyn Stillinger Shull will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Lonnie H. Shull Jr. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Shull, 93, died on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Chester Nursing Center in Chester, SC.Born in West Columbia, January 8, 1917, Mrs. Shull was the daughter of the late Wesley and Cora Stillinger. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed being a homemaker for many years for her husband and two daughters. She enjoyed working in the yard, cooking for her extended family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, West Columbia, SC, and was a member of the Winsome Sunday School class. For the last five years she lived in Chester, SC, to be near her daughter.Mrs. Shull is survived by her daughter, Patricia Shull Crisler of Chester, SC; grandchildren, Alan Powell and wife, Sara, of Bakersville, NC, Beth Lynn and husband, Rodney, of Matthews, NC, and James F. Burriss III of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Allison Powell Jackson and husband, John Robert, of Lexington, SC, Amy Powell of Columbia, SC, Tyler Lynn and Sydney Lynn of Matthews, NC; great-great-grandchild, Emma Kate Jackson; brothers, Edward Stillinger, W.D. Stillinger, Donnie Stillinger and Charles Stillinger; sisters, Maggie Dreher, Eloise Hall and Ruth McGee.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shull was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ellie D.
