Obituary of Hasford Watts

WEST COLUMBIA—Graveside service for Hasford Watts, 86, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Southland Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. J.O. Reed. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia prior to the service. Mr. Watts, widower of Evelyn Chadwick Watts of 41 years, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Born in Gaston, he was the son of the late John and Thelma Watts; he was a lifetime area resident and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He retired as owner and operator of Watts Roofing. He was an avid fisherman and a Mason. Surviving are his daughters, Linda Vogel of Columbia and the late Jonathan Vogel and Faye Knocnel of Prosperity; sons, Wyman Watts (Theresa), Kenneth Watts of Summerville and William Billingsley (Vicky) of Goose Creek; son-in-law, Mike McFarland of West Columbia; sister, Retha Busbee of West Columbia; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
