Obituary of Thomas Clarence

Thomas Clarence Ard WEST COLUMBIA—Thomas Clarence Ard, 72, husband of Barbara Stella Chavis Ard, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Augusta, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas H. Ard and Ozell Baker Ard. Mr. Ard was in the transportation business for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ard; sons, Dwayne (Lynia) Ard, Joey (Jena) Ard, Robby (Lura) Ard and Brian (Joyce) Ard; daughter, Debra (Kenny) Sharpe; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Wilson. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
