Obituary of Hazel Spratlin

Hazel Aughtry Spratlin CAYCE:Funeral service for Hazel Aughtry Spratlin will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Dr. Pete Cassidy and Rev. Nathan Brown. Burial will be at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Spratlin went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late George and Nora Ellisor Aughtry. She retired from Mount Vernon Mills and worked in the Daycare of State Street Baptist Church , and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. Mrs. Spratlin was a docent at the South Carolina State Museum. Surviving are her daughter, Fran Cornell (Frank) of Cayce; four granddaughters, Angie Provence (Andrew) of Fayetteville, GA, Vanessa Flores (Robert) of Cayce, Vicki Drakeford (John) of Alpharetta, GA, Julie Woodruff (Darrell) of West Columbia; sixteen great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Spratlin was preceded in death by her husband, John Hubert Spratlin, sister, Ruby Lorick and brother, Huie Aughtry.
