Obituary of Wesley Hammond

Wesley Hammond Jr. PELION: Funeral service for Wesley Hammond, Jr., 71, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Dolorosa Worship Center in Pelion, officiated by Pastor Thomas Doolittle and Pastor Carroll Hurley. Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dolorosa Worship Center, Building Fund, 365 Old Charleston Highway, Pelion, SC 29123. Wes went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 15, 2011. Born in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late Wesley Hammond, Sr., and Ada Medlin Hammond. He was a member of Dolorosa Worship Center where he was treasurer for a number of years. He was retired from the Pet Milk Company. Survivors are his loving wife, Evelyn Hammond; a daughter, Terry Sharpe (Danny) all of Pelion; a son, David Hammond (Wendy) of Lexington; sisters, Louise Fletcher of West Columbia, Eloise Miller of Camden and Pauline Corder of Irmo; brothers, Frank Hammond (Wanda) of West Columbia, Robert Hammond (Mary) of Camden, Bobby Hammond (Rita) of Columbia and Billy Hammond of Camden; grandson, Weston Sharpe and granddaughter, McKenzie Hammond.
