Obituary of Velma Hutto

Velma McKenzie Hutto CAYCE---Velma McKenzie Hutto, 87, of Cayce, entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Cayce with Rev. Kevin Phillips and Rev. Joe Borgkvist officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Cayce one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Hutto was born in Lake City, SC and was the daughter of the late Neal and Lillie McKenzie. She is survived by her husband of 49 years and her best friend, Rudoplh "Rudy" M. Hutto; Judy, Randy, Ariel and Madison Fox of Batesburg-Leesville; sister Elizabeth Henrietta Turner of Saluda; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by eight brothers. She worked for over 30 years for BellSouth and was a member of the company's Pioneer organization. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cayce where, throughout the years, she served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and member of the WMU. Members of her Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers will include nephews, Charles McKenzie, Walter McKenzie, Robert Ramos, Wayne Smith, Keith Huggins and Edward Dukes. Memorials in Mrs. Hutto's honor may be made to First Baptist Church of Cayce, 600 Holland Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033, or to a charity of one's choice.
