Obituary of Thomas Danny Porter

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Thomas Daniel "Danny" Porter, 82, of West Columbia, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Elmwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Lynch. The family will receive friends following the burial at the graveside. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge. Mr. Porter, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Lexington County on October 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Daniel Thomas Porter and Ruth Sturkie Porter. He was an area resident since 2005, formerly of New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was a retired federal employee and U.S. Army Veteran. He was of the Baptist faith with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
