Joseph Edward Wharton LEXINGTON: Mr. Joseph Edward "Joe" Wharton, 67, died Thursday, September 8, 2011. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Box 3968, Gaithersburg, MD, 20885-3968. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late James Albion Wharton and Eva Marie Corley Wharton. He was a 1963 graduate of Columbia High School; and served his country in the Marines. He was employed in the heating and air industry; and was a Mason. Surviving is his sister, Jacqueline A.
