Obituary of Lynne King

Lynne King LEXINGTON—A memorial service for Lynne King, 64, of Lexington, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Rev. Angela Peterson. The family will receive friends after the service at the home on Mossborough Drive, Lexington, SC. Memorials may be made in Lynne's honor to Meals on Wheels, c/o Lexington Senior Center, 108 Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mrs. King, beloved wife of David C. King, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Joe Melton and Peggy Sparks Melton. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Congaree Presbyterian Church. She retired from South Carolina Labor Licensing & Regulation after many years of devoted service. Surviving in addition to her husband, David King of Lexington; sons, Gustavo Moreno of Charlotte and Anthony Moreno of New York; two grandchildren, Alex and Alyssa Moreno; and brother, Gary Melton of LaPaz, Mexico.
