Ann Nipper Smith WEST COLUMBIA: Service for Amelia Ann Nipper Smith, 63, will be held at 12 Noon Friday, December 2, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Eric Branch. Entombment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Born in Richland Co., SC, she was raised in the Carolina Children's Home in Columbia. She loved cross stitching and macramé. Surviving is her husband of 31 years, Phillip R. Smith of West Columbia; daughter, Kimberly "Kim" Branch (Eric) of Easley; step-sons, Kevin Smith (Tina) of Saluda and Bobby Smith of Lexington; sisters, Venetia "Jackie" Glock of Chapin, Sandra Simmons (C.L.) of West Columbia and Linda Jarvis (Gary) of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Harry Nipper of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Kyle and Brittney Branch. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Ed Nipper.
