Obituary of Elizabeth Hughes

CAYCE - Funeral service for Elizabeth B. Hughes, 63, of Cayce, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by the Rev. M.D. Connor Jr. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Byrd, Ron Etheredge, Tony Mellette, Barry Dennis, Michael Lynch and Forrest Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be the Eastern Star Cayce Chapter #260. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cayce First Baptist Church, 600 Holland Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Hughes, wife of Michael Hughes, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hugo N. """Shine""" Byrd and Gladys Brown Byrd. She was a member of Cayce First Baptist Church, Cayce Chapter 260 Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile; Mrs. Hughes had retired from BellSouth. Survivors are her husband, Mike Hughes; daughters, Stephanie Boles (Robert) and Suzanne Hughes; three grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Kendra Boles.
