Obituary of Ella Strickland

LEXINGTON - Services for Ella Mae Earls Strickland, 89, of Lexington, will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia with burial in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastor Johnny Slice. Memorials may be made to Edmund First Baptist Church, 6256 Edmund Hwy., Lexington, SC 29073.Born in Blacksburg, SC on June 1, 1921 she entered into rest on Friday, October 15, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Tommy and Grace Cooper Earls and wife of the late Julian F. Strickland. She retired from K-Mart where she made many friends and was a member of Edmund First Baptist Church.She is survived by an Aunt Yvonne and nieces in Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy, Jr. and Winford Earls.Many thanks to all the staff at Lexington Extended Care on Ivy Road and also to the student nurses who took the time to visit with her.
