Obituary of Myrlie Douglas

WEST COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Myrlie H. Douglas, 100 of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, in Hebron Methodist Church South Cemetery, Livingston, SC. Officiating will be the Rev. Russ Painter. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia prior to the service.Mrs. Douglas, widow of Andrew C. Douglas, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Born in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of the late William Hughes and Sara Dunn Hughes. She was a longtime area resident and a member of Sunset Blvd. Baptist Church. She lived life to the fullest and was very joyful.Surviving are her son Nelson Douglas of West Columbia; grandchildren, Jerry Ellingsworth Douglas, Stacy Douglas Harper, Tracy Douglas Meetze, Daphne Douglas Perkins and Linda Kay Douglas; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
