Obituary of Anita Hagins

GASTON - Ms. Anita Marie Smith Hagins, 41, died Thursday, September 2, 2010. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of Joellen Mahaffey Smith and the late James Clifford Smith Sr. She had been an employee of Wabtec, as a test rack operator, for 15 years. Ms. Hagins enjoyed riding motorcycles and shooting pool. She was a very giving and loving person. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Survivors include her mother, Joellen Mahaffey Smith of Lexington; daughters, Xanthe Amanda Smith of South Congaree, and Savannah Leigh Hagins Bell (Jay) of Camden; son, Nick Smith and partner, Victoria, of South Congaree; sister, Bonnie Jean Smith Nemenz (Marty) of Hanoverton, OH; brother, James C. """Jimmy""" Smith Jr. of South Congaree; eight grandchildren, Jackie Crocker, Joellen Crocker, Marilyn Crocker, Chelsea Crocker, Hailey Crocker, Khira Smith, Allison Smith and Autumn Jennings.
