Obituary of Barbara Fitzharris

Barbara Hutto Fitzharris WEST COLUMBIA:A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Dr. Robert Browning. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Anne Hutto Fitzharris was passionate about many things: cheering for the University of South Carolina, human rights, and tending to her flower gardens; but her family always mattered most. Anne Fitzharris, loving wife and mother passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011. A devoted mother, Anne truly lived her faith. Through the mercy and forgiveness she showed others, she passed on to her children this sense of compassion and responsibility to make the world a better place. ?To whom much is given, much is required.? It was this example which inspired her daughters to pursue careers in medicine and human rights. Preceded in death by her father, George Daniel Hutto and sister, Deborah Hutto, Anne is survived by her husband of forty-two years, John Fitzharris; daughters, Shawn Fitzharris and Dr. Laurie Kohn; son-in-law, Joseph Kohn; granddaughters, Taylor, Erin and Abby. She is also survived by her mother, Cornelia Hutto; sister, Diane Vinson; brothers, Michael and Daniel Hutto; and numerous loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
