Obituary of RUTH COOK

Ruth Thomas Cook, 85, widow of the late Lt. Col. Maxwell A. Cook (US Army Ret.), passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010. Private memorial services are planned. Mrs. Cook was born November 12, 1924 in Florence, SC to the late Harry E. Thomas and Ruth Hines Thomas. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, and was an avid reader and advocate for protection of animals. She moved to the Columbia area in 1968, and was of the Methodist faith. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Alice Carol Cook, Ruth Ann Williams (husband Richard), and Stephen Cook; granddaughter, Christine Fox; and a sister, Nell Bawer.
