Obituary of PERRY POWELL

A memorial service for Perry R. Powell, of Chapin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010, at Chapin United Methodist Church. Mr. Powell passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010. He was born August 8, 1924, in Fairfield County, SC, to the late Larnie Henry Powell and Claudia Loreen Perry Powell. Mr. Powell served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, seeing active duty in the European Campaign where he earned the Air Medal with Three Oak Clusters. Mr. Powell retired from management with Superior Motors of Orangeburg, and was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Ann Senn (husband, Donnie) of Chapin, and Patricia Fletcher (husband, Michael) of West Columbia; a sister, Jacquelyn Scheffler of Chapin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Billie Heron Powell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Chapin United Methodist Church Building Fund, 415 Lexington Ave. Chapin, SC 29036.
