Obituary of WILLIAM HOOD

Funeral services for William E. ?Bill? Hood, 75, of Columbia, will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 10am Saturday prior to the service. Mr. Hood passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born January 29, 1935 in Columbia, SC to the late George Edward Hood and Virginia Trapp Hood. Mr. Hood was veteran of the U. S. Army, and served in Korea. He was a member of VFW Post 641 and the Jamil Shriners. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley L. Hood; sons, Greg Hood and Bryan Hood, both of Columbia; a daughter, Jan Hood Autry (husband Steve Autry); brothers, Dexter Hood of Charleston and Harry Hornsby of Pelion); sisters, Mary Mattox of Lexington and Paulette Whitehurst of Raleigh, NC; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Hood.
