Obituary of DOROTHY CASSIDY

Dorothy E. Cassidy passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Born in Jacksonville, FL, she was the daughter of the late Alvin L. Walker and Elizabeth S. Walker. She retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) at Ft. Jackson, SC. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She always enjoyed doing for others in need. She seemed to bring sunshine everywhere she went. She will truly be missed. As the wife of a 31 ½ year Army Veteran, she provided the strength and support to her family and others during those years. A loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She cherished her family. A Charter Member of Christ The King Lutheran Church, Member of Area Ft. Jackson Chapter (AAFES Retired Association), a Charter Member of Ladies Auxillary Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 402. She is survived by her husband, Mac D. Cassidy, Sr.; son, Mac D. Cassidy, Jr. of Charleston, SC; son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Susan Cassidy of West Columbia, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Christopher Pearson of Columbia, SC; and five grandchildren: Artana, Lynn, Jami, Jill and Christopher and six great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Seth, Brooke, Peyton, Ethan and Keaton, whom she dearly loved. A number of Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association Foundation ? 2711 Middleburg Dr. Columbia, SC 29204.
