Obituary of MARGIE ORTIZ

Funeral services for Margie Mitchell Ortiz, 78, of Lugoff, will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Ortiz, widow of the late Radames ?Mike? Ortiz, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born October 28, 1932 in Richland County, SC to the late Arthur Pickens Mitchell and Rozzie Shealy Mitchell. She was a graduate of Dreher High School, and was retired from AT&T after 32 years of service. She was also a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Noorani (Ali); a son, Rodney Ortiz (Karen); four grandchildren, Tessa Ortiz, Saira Noorani-Salib, Sasha Magee, and Alysha Noorani; and a brother, Arthur ?Buck? Mitchell (Ila). In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Faulkenberry. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of Kershaw County, 2001 West DeKalb Street Camden, SC 29020 or to Harvest Baptist Church, 281 Wildwood Lane Lugoff, SC 29078.
