Obituary of HARRY BRINKLEY

A graveside service for Harry Lee Brinkley, 82, of Columbia, will be held 3:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2011 at Old Sandy Run Cemetery in Pontiac, SC. Mr. Brinkley passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He was born July 29, 1928 in Carroll County, TN, a son of the late Jessie O. Brinkley and Loue Gertie Duke Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley served in the US Army, the US Air Force, the SC National Guard, and the SC Army National Guard. He retired after 26 years of service as Sergeant First Class. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in West Tennessee, and was also a Life Time Member of VFW Post 641, and a 20 year member of American Legion Post 20. Mr. Brinkley retired from Love Chevrolet. He is survived by a brother, James W. Brinkley of Palos Hills, IL. Greenlawn Funeral Home of Columbia has been entrusted with the arrangements.
