Obituary of Harry Wall

ASHEVILLE:Graveside service for Harry Daniel "Danny" Wall, 59, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Lybrand Cemetery, Delree Street, West Columbia, SC 29170. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mr. Wall, husband of Robin Satterfield Wall, died Monday, February 7, 2011. Born March 26, 1951 in Nuremburg, Germany, he was a son of Doris Fox Wall and the late Major Troy Daniel Wall. A graduate of Dreher High School in 1969, and from Asheville Buncombe Community College; he worked as a Mechanical Designer for Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. in Columbia and relocated with the company to Asheville, NC. Mr. Wall was a pilot, he enjoyed scuba diving, skydiving and loved his animals. Danny described his joy for life the best. He said, "I love my job. I love my wife. I love my life!" Surviving in addition to his beloved, wife, companion and friend of 30 years, Robin Satterfield Wall; are his mother and sisters and brothers, Linda Wall Ruff (husband Wade, deceased), sons, Jeff Alford, Chris Ruff (wife Sarah); Maxwell D. Wall (wife Julie Jones Wall), son, Andy Wall; Laura B. Wall, son Ben Hawkins (deceased); Lisa Wall Hibdon, (husband Robert D. Hibdon), daughter, Melissa Ann Hibdon; also many other loved family members and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mission Memorial for their compassion and care.
