Obituary of Mabel Gordon

Mabel Smith Gordon WEST COLUMBIA: A graveside service for Mabel Smith Gordon, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Southland Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Paul E. Aebischer. Memorials may be made to Current and Benevolent Fund at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Ave., West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Ms. Gordon died Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Born in Irmo, SC she was a daughter of the late Frank Derrick and Ira Belle Shealy Derrick. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church; and she enjoyed working outdoors. Surviving is her daughter, Kay Smith Senn (Jimmy) of West Columbia; two grandchildren, Stephanie Senn Hicks (Bob) and Sabrina Senn Holmes (Adam); five great grandchildren, Laken and Kaden Hicks, and Conner, Kaleb and Hayes Holmes; also her brother-in-law, Jimmy Hipp. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A.
