Obituary of Grace McAulay

Grace D. McAulay LEXINGTON-Services for Grace D. McAulay, 85, of Lexington, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Lexington Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Clay Werner. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Presbyterian Church, 246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Mrs. McAulay, widow of John "Jack" Joseph McAulay, Sr., died Monday, February 28, 2011. Born in Franklin, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jeptha Logan Daniel and Mary Butler Daniel. Formerly of Atlanta GA, she had been a local resident since 1964. She was retired from Richland County RMC Office as the assistant RMC. Mrs. McAulay was a charter member of Lexington Presbyterian Church and attended the Servants of The King Sunday School Class. Grace was well known for her love of cooking and baking. Her two grandchildren were the love of her life. Surviving are her son, John J. McAulay, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Lexington; and two grandchildren, John "Jack" Peter McAulay and Matthew Daniel McAulay; her niece, Jackie Sommers of Atlanta, GA; and nephew, Danny and his wife, Marsha Locket of Savannah, GA. She was predeceased in death by a infant son, and four sisters, Nina Fisk, Johnnie Locket, Mary Dabney, and Irene "Tricia" Heard.
