Obituary of Doris Hawkins

Doris H. Hawkins COLUMBIA— A graveside service for Doris H. Hawkins, 81, of Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Reverend Russell Peek. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be give to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Mrs. Hawkins passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late George Knowlton Hendrix and Eva Chewning Hendrix. She was a lifelong area resident and retired from Richland County Clerk of Court office after 25 years of dedicated service. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Hawkins Smith (Roland) of Greenville; sons, David E. Hawkins (Wilda) of Lexington, William R. Hawkins, Jr. (Gloria) of Irmo and Brandon O. Hawkins (Doris) of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Cody Bell, Adam Smith, Robert Smith, Neil Hawkins, and Wendy Hawkins; 3 great-grandchildren, Kiara Bell, Alyssa Bell and Kayleigh Hawkins.
