Obituary of Charles McKinney

A memorial service celebrating the life of Charles ?Chuck? Taylor McKinney, 73, of Columbia will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with private inurnment to follow at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harvest Hope Food Bank, 2220 Shop Road, Columbia, SC 29201 in Chuck?s memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawnmemorialparkandfh.com. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mr. McKinney departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. He was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Audrey Ferrell McKinney. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Chuck was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Hershel Ferrell and Blanche Creasy Ferrell; and uncle, Archester ?Chester? H. Ferrell. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Sandra Kelly McKinney; sons, Benjamin E. (Stella) Kelly, III, Gregory Todd (Sandra) Kelly, William Rhett (Dana) Kelly; seven grandchildren, Ann Gregory Kelly, Katherine L. Kelly, Austin Kelly, Ashley Lawson, Macey Lawson, Caroline Kelly, and Campbell Kelly.
