Obituary of Hardy Dominy

Hardy "Sam" Dominy WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Hardy Sam Dominy, 89, of West Columbia, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at St. David Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor James Laurence. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In his honor memorials may be made to St. David Lutheran Church, Debt Retirement, 132 St. Davids Church Road, W. Columbia, SC 29170. Mr. Dominy, widower of Yvonne Lown Dominy, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Born in Wilkinson County, GA, he was the son of the late Hardy Ivey Dominy and Lucille Howell Dominy. He was longtime area resident and a member of St. David Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Men. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. Surviving are his daughters, LeVett D. Jeffcoat (Earl) of West Columbia, Claire D. Foster (Jeff) of Lexington and Debbie D. Carnell (Marvin) of West Columbia; grandchildren, April J. Laughlan (Drew), Clay Jeffcoat (Jennifer), Mandy F. Snipes (Don), Laurie F. Brown (Mitch), Deanna Y. Carnell (fiancé Morgan Leath) and Adam Carnell; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Ward of Warner Robins, GA, Lucy Edda Mills (Frank), Mary Ivey Thompson and Betty Rose Criswell (Bud) all of Toomsboro, GA; also surviving are sisters-in-law, June Lown of Cayce and Maynell Lown of West Columbia.
