Obituary of Mary Rivers

Mary Bernice Rivers SANDY RUN - Funeral services for Mary Bernice Rivers, 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Rivers, widow of J. B. Rivers, died Monday, April 4, 2011. Born in Chesterfield County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. Oakley and Gladys Davidson Oakley. Surviving are her son, Thomas Rivers (Joan) of Gaston and her brother, Robert Oakley of McBee; grandchildren, Ensign Julius Rivers (Shelly), Kim Angle (Josh), Christi Morey (Robert), and Amy Rivers. Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Lynn Rivers.
