Obituary of Bryan Wrigley

Bryan Bennett Wrigley WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Bryan Bennett Wrigley, 23, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Pastor Jesse Simmons. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Peter Till, Mitch Davenport, Andrew Bristow, Craig Wheatley, Jeremy Bristow, Lucas Erwin, Ryan Bristow and Mark Surratt. Honorary pallbearer will be Kevin Wrigley his brother. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. The family requests donations be made to the Bryan Bennett Wrigley Memorial Fund, c/o Newberry College, 2100 College Street, Newberry SC 29108 Mr. Wrigley passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Born in West Columbia, he was the son of Eric W. Wrigley and Miriam B. "Mandy" Wrigley of West Columbia. Bryan was a 2006 graduate of Airport High School, varsity football player and a member of the French Honor Society, the National Honor Society, the National Beta Club, the USC-Aiken Scholar Award, the Coker College Scholar Award, the National Football Foundation, the College Football Hall of Fame and Scholar Athlete Award. Bryan graduated in December 2009 from Newberry College Summa Cum Laude. He was on the Dean's List, an Honor Graduate achieving a 3.9 GPA, majoring in Biology. A member of Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was attending University of St. Augustine Health Science working toward his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and was a member of the University Honor Council. Bryan was a loving and caring person who touched the lives of many through his services beginning at Airport High Special Olympics Program, which he remained an active participant. He also served and received the Echo Award while attending Newberry College for his activities in Student Ministry. Surviving in addition to his parents, Eric W. and Mandy Wrigley of West Columbia; brother, Kevin J. Wrigley (Ciara Murray) of West Columbia; maternal grandparents, Fred N. (Buddy) Bennett and Shirley P. Bennett both of West Columbia; paternal grandmother, Lola C. Wrigley and the late C. William Wrigley of Columbia; uncle, Fred "Bud" Bennett Jr. of West Columbia; uncle, aunt and cousins, Craig and Roberta Wrigley of Atlanta, GA their children, Jason (Erin) Wrigley of Atlanta, GA their children, Ryan, Megan and Katie, Todd (Lindsey) Wrigley of Atlanta, GA their child, Carter, Ford and Kathy Wrigley of Columbia their children, Ashley Wrigley and Malory Wrigley both of Charleston and Derrick (Tiffany) Wrigley of Columbia; Alan Wrigley and Julie LeFebvre of Columbia; great aunts and uncles, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Q. (Sybil) Senn of West Columbia, Mr. & Mrs. E.D. (Hilda) Sturkie of West Columbia and Mrs. J. E. (Esther) Pound and the late Jacob Elvin Pound, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; honorary aunt and uncle, Fran and Jimmy Bristow of West Columbia; cousins, Jeremy, Andrew and Ryan Bristow of West Columbia. His close friends, Alexandra (Alex) Roger of Cocoa Beach and St. Augustine, FL, Peter (Pete) Till of Fort Wayne, IN and St. Augustine, FL and his four legged friends, T.J., Sassy and Cody.
