Obituary of Dorothy Pruett

Dorothy Chapman "Dottie" Pruett CAYCE—Funeral services for Dorothy Chapman "Dottie" Pruett, 78, of Cayce, will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Donald P. Davis and Rev. Dr. Eddie Coakley. The casket will be placed and open one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the TEL Sunday School Class. Immediately following the service the family will have a reception and visitation in the church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, 3608 Landmark Drive, Ste. G, Columbia, SC 29204. Mrs. Pruett, beloved wife of Walter Pruett, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Born in Chapin, she was the daughter of the late Lewie L. Chapman and Lois Koon Chapman. She was lifelong area resident and a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member of T.E.L. Sunday School Class. She retired from "Tapps" Department Store after many years of loyal service. Surviving in addition to her husband, Walter Pruett of Cayce; daughter and son-in-law, Susan P. and Tommy Backman of Gaston; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall L. and Marguerite Pruett of Elgin and Russell S. and Leslie Pruett of Cayce; four beautiful grandchildren, Robyn (Matthew) Kennedy, Kelly (Shawn) Goff, Dillon Backman and Mark Pruett; great-grandchildren, Caroline & Katherine Goff and Jackson & Ryan Kennedy; sister, Frances Ellisor; brother, James A.
