Obituary of Bernice Lybrand

Bernice Rucker Lybrand LEXINGTON:Funeral services for Bernice Rucker Lybrand, 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Bruce Rucker. Interment will follow at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Sandy Run, P.O. Box 148, Swansea, SC 29160. Mrs. Lybrand, widow of John David Lybrand, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Born in Swansea, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Davis Rucker and Willie Mae Saylor Rucker. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Margaret Welch (Buddy) of Sandy Run and Dr. Mary Falterman (Casey) of Richmond, VA; sons, John David Lybrand, Jr. (Jane) of Charleston, Ben Lybrand (Linda) of Marshville, NC and Carl Lybrand (Rhonda) of Sandy Run; sister, Hilmer Watts of Sandy Run; twelve grandchildren, Laurie, David, Andy, Kelley, Meghan, Hugh, Christopher, John, Daniel, Amy, Denise and Buddy; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
