Obituary of BETTY MALONE

A graveside service for Betty Harris Malone, 72, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Mrs. Malone passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011. She was born August 9, 1938 in Columbia, SC to the late William Harris and Lottie P. Harris. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed baseball. She was a diehard Altanta Braves fan. She was retired from Keenan Oil Company and SCE&G. Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years, Tom Malone; sons, Craig (Jan) Malone of Chapin, SC and Sean (Shelby) Malone of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Penny Thompson of Columbia; brothers, 'PeeWee' Harris (wife Freddie Ann) of Kershaw, SC, Bobby Harris (wife Judy) of Charlotte, NC and 'Sonny' Harris (wife Lillian) of Greenville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Beth Thompson, Ashley Summers, and Savannah Malone; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Lily Thompson and Graham Thompson. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Bunnie Kaigler.
