Obituary of Margaret Marsh Reeder

Margaret Henrietta Marsh Reeder LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Margaret Henrietta Marsh Reeder, 83, of Lexington, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Oakwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial park. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Richard Wilson and Rev. Dr. Larry Scott. Serving as pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Reeder, beloved wife of 58 years to Quinton H. Reeder, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Richmond Hobson Marsh and Nellie Anne DeBruhl Marsh. She had been an area resident since 1963 and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She worked for Southern Bell for many years and retired from the US Postal Service (Lexington Branch) as a mail carrier. She was founder of Weigela Garden Club in West Columbia and a member of Oak Grove Homemakers Association, Mid-Carolina WIRE (Women in Rural Electric) and Oak Grove Civic Club. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband, Quinton H. Reeder of Lexington; daughters, Sharron Reeder Bates of Lexington and Judy A. Reeder of Columbia; sons, Rand Reeder (Nancy) of Garden City and Russell Reeder (Terri) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jason Reeder & Jamie Reeder of Garden City, Christopher Reeder of Columbia; great-grandchild, Taelor Prince of California; sister, Beaulah Branham of Camden; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Elsbree of NY and Thelma Hall of Camden.
