Obituary of Jean Thigpen McKissick

Jean Rae Thigpen McKissick COLUMBIA:Funeral service for Jean Rae Thigpen McKissick, 63, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tim Phillips. Interment will follow at Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery, West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to the Columbia City Junior Bowlers Program, in honor of Bob Thigpen. Ms. McKissick died Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Thigpen and Jeanette Bates Corey. She was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, and was an employee of Colonial Life Insurance Co. Ms. McKissick loved to dance, enjoyed crafts and loved her cats. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt. Surviving are her daughters Amber McKissick (soon to be Mrs. Erich Albert) of Columbia and Brooke McKissick Holladay (Jack) of Lexington; sisters Robina Thigpen Caulder and Heidi Thigpen Gates both of Lexington.
