Obituary of Mack Eubanks

Mack Weldon Eubanks CAYCE: Funeral services for Mack Weldon Eubanks, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Paul E. Aebischer. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cayce/West Columbia Lions Club, special buddies, Carroll Hutchinson, Robert Moak, Fred Stork, Robert Wise and W.L. Warren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mr. Eubanks died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Born in Jefferson, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas Franklin Eubanks and Henrietta Lynn Eubanks. He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, were he served on the USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier. Mr. Eubanks retired from The State Record after 40 years service. He was a charter member of the Cayce /West Columbia Lions Club; he received the Melvin C. Jones Fellowship award, was inducted into the SC Lions Hall of Fame and was a life member of the Lions Club International. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jane Eubanks of Cayce; daughter, Jane Margaret Daugherty (Mark) of West Columbia; two grandchildren, Katie and Kellie Daugherty and a niece, Nancy Cauthen of Jefferson City, TN. Mr. Eubanks was preceded in death by sisters, Maude Jowers, Alene Holley and Nell Sears; brothers, Thomas , Willis and Joe Eubanks.
