Obituary of Jessie Rickman

Jessie Carter Rickman WEST COLUMBIA:Funeral service for Jessie Carter Rickman, 90, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home Lexington. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice of the Midlands, 805 Buff St., West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Rickman, widow of Clarence Bruce Rickman, died Monday, June 6, 2011. Born in Lawndale, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Clayton Carter and Ethel Weaver Carter. Formerly of Union, SC, she was a resident here since 1969. A member of Dixiana Baptist Church, she was the church secretary for 25 years. Surviving is her son, Barry Rickman (Gail) of West Columbia; sister, Carrie Wallace of Lawndale, NC; brother, Tom Carter of N. Charleston; two grandchildren, Lauren Rickman and Jennifer Rickman; one great grandchild, Breanna Mack.
