Obituary of Leola Pruitt

A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Leola McMullin Pruitt, 88, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with private entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawnmemorialparkandfh.com. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mrs. Pruitt died on Thursday, June 16, 2011. She was the daughter of Roy and Rhoda McMullin(deceased). She was born in Colorado, educated in Oklahoma schools, and attended Oklahoma State University. She served in Communication in the WAVES during World War II. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught the Faith Sunday School Class and served as the church librarian for many years. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 65 years, Harold, as well as her daughter, Linda Pruitt and her husband Dan Cummings of La Grangeville, NY; son, Dennis Pruitt and his wife Patricia of Columbia, SC; and son, Jerry Pruitt and his wife Sharon of Cato, WI; six grandchildren, Dennis, Jr., Matthew, Kaitlyn, Sean, Rebecca and Christopher and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Teresa Marie, Adelle, Thadd, and Daly. Mrs. Pruitt was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.
