Obituary of Rev.Beulah Davis

Rev. Beulah "Billie" Maye Chapman Davis COLUMBIA-Services for Rev. Davis, will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Whaley Street United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Noble Miller. Interment will follow in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge. Memorials may be made to Whaley Street United Methodist Church, 517 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or Cats About Town Rescue, 530 Georgia Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Rev. Davis, widow of Rev. Bill Davis, died Saturday, June 25, 2011. She was the oldest child of George and Orga Chapman of Akron, OH. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Chapman. Rev. Davis was ordained in 1944 in Prison Ministries, she worked with Furnace Street Mission in Ohio, Skid Row, Salvation Army Children's Street Ministries. She worked with the Department of Defense in Washington, DC during the Korean War with Troop Logistics. She went from God's Bible School and College to Cuba as a Missionary. The Davis' served throughout SC with the United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughters, Joanna Davis and Robin Cronshaw of Columbia; son, Dixon Davis and his wife, Aleksandra, of CA; sisters, Betty Ransom of Athens, OH, Bonnie Mallet of Akron, OH, Barbara Wise of CA; brothers, Harold Chapman of Canal Fulton, OH, and Bill Chapman of MD; and grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kristina, and Ann.
